About VJTI Mumbai

Established in 1887 as the Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, VJTI Mumbai was renamed the Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute in 1997 to honour the mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. VJTI Mumbai is an autonomous educational institution that offers programmes in engineering and technology at the diploma, degree, post-graduate, and doctoral levels. It has been shifting itself from a training institute to capacity building institute with a focus on research, innovation, and technology for society. The institute’s vision is “to establish global leadership in the field of Technology and develop competent human resources for providing service to society”.
