About TENT (Theatre for Experiments in New Technologies)

Launched in 2012, Theatre for Experiments in New Technologies or TENT is a non-profit platform established to foster an alternative art space to facilitate experiments with moving images. At the time when the media scene is intersected by multiple screens, mediums, forms and aesthetics, and boundaries between the arts and producers and their audience are becoming increasingly fluid, TENT attempts to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

The organisation creates linkages between art practitioners and researchers through regular screenings, talks, workshops, residencies, and national as well as international collaborations. Currently located in Kolkata, TENT aspires to become a place where artists from disparate fields can come together to expand and redefine the significance of art, cinema and media cultures.
