About Pickle Factory Dance Foundation

The Pickle Factory is a hub for dance and movement practice, discourse and presentation housed in spaces repurposed for the arts in Kolkata. It responds to the lack of infrastructure and support systems for performance in India, and aims to fill the void. Its dream is to have a permanent venue that “redefines relationships between movement and space, nurtures diverse communities, and reflects the plural spirit of Kolkata”. The Season is one of Pickle Factory’s flagship projects.

Among its other year-round activities is the curation of smaller engagements and programmes with partner venues and arts organisations in Kolkata and elsewhere and the provision of curatorial, consultancy, research, project management and production services for performing arts-related projects from India and abroad.
