Men Against Violence and Abuse
About Men Against Violence & Abuse
Formed in 1993, Men Against Violence and Abuse or MAVA, is an organisation of men working to stop and prevent gender-based violence towards women. It uses out-of-the-box methods such as interactive workshops, the publication of a cultural magazine called Purushspandana (meaning “Men’s Expressions” in Marathi), theatre and travelling film festivals to engage, sensitise and mentor thousands of young men and boys across India. Every year, MAVA organises SamaBhav International Travelling Film Festival.
