BeFantastic and Future Everything
BeFantastic and Future Everything
BeFantastic and UK-based arts organisation Future Everything are the organisers of FutureFantastic. The festival emerged out of a joint proposal between the two organisations for the British Council’s India-UK Together, a Season of Culture series of events.
BeFantastic comprises a Bengaluru-based team of experienced designers, artists, architects, writers and technologists. They are founder-director Kamya Ramachandran, founder-advisor Archana Prasad, community engagement lead Karthika Sakthivel, programme lead Swathi Kumar, curatorial lead Jones Benny John, creative tech lead Hasan S. and communication designer Rujuta Muley.
Since its inception in 2017, BeFantastic has pioneered explorations in the field of tech art in India, convening communities of artists, creative technologists, activists and other changemakers to facilitate collaborative artmaking towards social change. In recent years, its activities have placed particular emphasis on adopting tools for artificial intelligence and machine learning for creative practices.
Manchester-headquartered arts organisation Future Everything, formed in 1995, explores the intersection of technology, art and culture. It “strives to be at the forefront of digital culture, harnessing art and participatory experience as a lens to reflect the world around us”.
The core team is made up of creative director Irini Papadimitriou, executive producer Chris Wright, producer Jonathan McGrath, associate artist Vicky Clarke, communications manager Hayley Kerridge, finance and admin manager Wanja Masais and administrator Hattie Kongaunruan.
