A wealth of talent from India and abroad is spotlighted at Chennai Photo Biennale, a city-wide festival of exhibitions and activities where photographers—beginner, amateur and professional—get to learn, upskill and network. The fourth edition will feature over 16 exhibitions, showcasing diverse practices that challenge dominant narratives through collective authorship, representation, and experimental forms. Spread across public spaces and galleries in Chennai, CPB4 highlights photography as an evolving art form. Theme: “Why Photograph?” inspired by Dayanita Singh’s exploration, the Chennai Photo Biennale invites audiences to question and reimagine their relationship with photography in a visually saturated era. Phase 1: December 20, 2024 – March 16, 2025 Phase 2: January 17, 2025 – March 16, 2025 Key Highlights: Vaanyerum Vizhuthugal – Tamil Nadu lens-based artistry at VR Chennai. It’s time. To see. To be seen. – Women in photography at Lalit Kala Akademi. Love and Light – Sunil Gupta’s retrospective at Government Egmore Museum. What Makes Me Click! – Global children’s photography projects. How to Get There

How to Reach Chennai
1. By Air: Chennai International Airport is 7 km away from Chennai city. Frequent domestic as well as international flights arrive here. Anna Terminal receives international flights from various major cities in the world. Kamaraj Terminal, which is at a distance of 150 metres from the Anna Terminal, has domestic flights connecting Chennai with major Indian cities.

2. By Rail: Chennai Central and Chennai Egmore are the main railway stations in the city, receiving regular trains from various major cities of India such as Bengaluru, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

3. By Road: The city is well connected with other cities in India by a road network. Various national highways from Chennai connect with Bengaluru (330 km), Trichy (326 km), Puducherry (162 km) and Tiruvallur (47 km). One can use car rental services or state transport buses.
