Dance Bridges Festival is an international dance biennial celebrating a diverse range of contemporary dance that is artistically innovative, thought-provoking and relevant. The Festival is run by Dance Bridges, a non-profit organisation with a core value for excellence and believing in the power of community built through artistic exchanges and discursive dialogues. The Festival supports year round activities in addition to the main festival and is curated by a programming committee based in London, Taipei and Kolkata.

Launched in 2014, the Dance Bridges Festival has since been held every two years and showcased cutting-edge contemporary choreography through live performances and film screenings. The festival has also provided dance education and training opportunities through residencies, workshops, talks, internships and outreach events.

Past editions of the festival have included various performances such as Falling Body by I-Fen Tung from Taiwan, Homeostasis by Rocio Berenguer from France, Suites by Tomas Danielis from Austria among many others. Workshops at the festival have been conducted by Ieve Navickaite from the UK, Meghna Bhardwaj from India,  Janet Reed from the USA and many others. Films screened at the festival have included Uath Lochan (UK), Here/Nowhere (Belgium), Hydra (Germany), Tofino (Sweden) and many others.

The 2021-2022 edition of the festival was a hybrid instalment with live events in Kolkata, Taipei and London as well as digital experiences. Over the past 4 editions Dance Bridges has presented performances, residencies, workshops, artist talks and film screenings collaborating with more than 70 independent artists and dance companies from over 30 countries as well as engaging with 25,000+ audience members and participants.
