The National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad (NID) is internationally acclaimed as one of the finest educational and research institutions for Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT Integrated (Experiential) Design. It is an autonomous institution under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad  has been declared an  ‘Institution of National Importance by the Act of Parliament. The Film and Video discipline at NID offers Bachelors’s and Master’s programmes. Noted filmmakers such as Pan Nalin, Dinaz Kalwachwala, Parthiv Shah, Oni Sen, Sonal Dhabhral, Dibakar Banerjee, Lekha Washington, Hitesh Kewalya, Manish Saini and Anoop Sathyan are all graduates of NID Ahmedabad.
