It’s awards season for the live events industry! The EEMAX Global Awards 2022 were given out in Jaipur at the start of this month at EEMAGINE, an annual conference organised by the Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA). Just a fortnight after, media company EVENTFAQS hosted, in Mumbai, the thirteenth edition of the WOW Awards Asia, which celebrates excellence in the creation of live events.
Several festivals picked up trophies at the EEMAX Global Awards. Spoken and the Mahindra Blues Special 2022 won their respective organisers Kommune and Hyperlink Brand Solutions the gold and the bronze for Best IP (Intellectual Property). Hyperlink also took home the silver trophy for Mahindra Open Drive in the Best New IP category.
Swordfish Events and Entertainment’s eco-friendly music festival Echoes of Earth scored a hat trick, scoring gold for Sustainable Event of the Year and silvers for both Best Lifestyle Event and Best Music Event. Given that Echoes of Earth was last held in December 2019 and that Mahindra Open Drive was first staged in February this year, we’re guessing this year’s ceremony covered festivals for the last three years.
It’s been a good year for Mahindra Open Drive, which won the gold in the Digital Promotion for an On-ground Activity/Event/Property and New Intellectual Property of the Year categories, at the WOW Awards Asia. In a tie with Sunburn, Mahindra Blues Special snagged the gold trophy for Festival of the Year – Music at the event at which organiser Hyperlink also bagged the sliver for Festival of the Year – Music for the Mahindra Kabira Festival.
A couple of other festivals won big at the WOW Asia Awards. The Great Indian Literature and Film Festival (GIFLIF)’s drive-in music festival got the gold for Best COVID Safety Event of the Year, and the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival for Best Festival of the Year – Art/Culture/Lifestyle and Best Tourism Event of the Year.
Congratulations to all the winners! See the full list of winners here and here.
