Avirbhav Concerts
Avirbhav Concerts
Launched in 2018, Avirbhav Concerts is an initiative by Kal-Aakaar Collective, aimed at helping families with children familiarise themselves with stage shows and cultural performances. The concerts aim to bridge the gap between audiences and Indian classical, folk, traditional, and contemporary artists. An upcoming show by Avirbhav includes a soulful performance by popular Sufi band Nizami Bandhu between 24 and 26 Feb in Gurugram.
The first edition of Avirbhav Concerts featured some notable performances by Shri Sharat Chandra Srivastava, the Gangani project from the Kathak Jaipur Gharana, Qawwali by Niazi Nizami Brothers from the Nizamuddin Dargah, Tansen by Trialogue Company and more. Nine monthly events were held and each event concluded with a dialogue between the audience and artists, making the experience even more enriching.
The second edition resumed post-COVID, supported by Worldmark Gurugram, and featured five weekly events with folk, Punjabi, classical and international performers from Africa. The third edition held between 21 and 22 Jan 2023 featured Parvaaz, one of India’s most exciting bands and Chaar Yaar with their mystic Sufi magic. This edition also featured monthly concerts at two venues with a diverse lineup of indie and folk rock performers.
